Horizon takes Flight Timber Structures to the next level
Longstanding Wolf Systems' nailplate and easi-joist® customer, Flight Timber Structures has recently made the switch from a competitor's AutoCAD®-based timber frame package to Wolf Systems' ground-breaking Horizon software.
According to Flight's Timber Frame Design Manager, Justin Gavin-Jones, the transition was fuelled by the need to be able to provide the highest quality standards to both in-house designers and clients and the ability to share information in a BIM environment.
"At Flight, our timber frame products have developed over the years from simple open panels to very high performance closed panels with floor and easi-joist® cassettes.
"As our products have become more specialised, along with our clients, we needed a more sophisticated timber frame design package that enabled us to work quickly within a Level 2 BIM environment, "a requirement set by the UK government for all public sector work by 2016" he says. "Horizon ticked all the right boxes for us and coupled with Wolf Systems' ongoing support and development, we’re confident the software can grow with us too."
